Help Wagga Wagga raise awareness for mental health and set a new World Record on Wednesday 10 October!
This World Mental Health Day – Wednesday 10 October 2018 – we are calling on the people of Wagga Wagga to help the community set a new World Record for the ‘most people wearing high-visibility vests’ in one location.
That’s right, all you need to do is be at Bunnings Warehouse at 8.30am on Wednesday 10 October, along with 2,136 others, and you’ll be a world record holder. It’s that simple.
High-viz vests will be provided, along with plenty of community activities from 7am, and with your support, and the support of many local community organisations and sporting groups, Wagga will be able to stake a claim to a new world record.
Why such a wacky and fun record attempt?
Firstly, to shed a positive light on an important issue and increase the visibility of mental health in our community, especially amongst young men. One in five Australians are affected by mental health annually, that’s more 12,000 people in Wagga this year alone.
Secondly, the World Record attempt will bring the Wagga Wagga community together – Tradies, farmers, first responders, families and more, in a fun way to talk about a serious issue that impacts many of us, as well friends, family and colleagues.
Date: Wednesday 10 October, World Mental Health Day
Time: Registrations from 7:00am – Official Attempt at 8:30am
Where: Bunnings Warehouse, Cnr Dobney & Pearson Streets, Wagga Wagga
